HYPNOTHERAPY IS THE PROCESS IN WHICH A QUALIFIED HYPNOTHERAPIST WORKS WITH A CLIENT TO ENGAGE IN HYPNOSIS – AN INCREDIBLY FOCUSED STATE OF ATTENTION THAT ALLOWS US ACCESS TO THE UNCONSCIOUS MIND. THIS CAN HELP TO IDENTIFY UNHELPFUL THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND BEHAVIOURS THAT CAN THEN BE CHANGED IN THE MOST POWERFUL WAY FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is simply a focused state of attention, and something you are already capable of achieving.

You might not know it, but you have already experienced hypnosis before you found this site. Yep, true story. It’s a totally natural occurrence that we experience many times throughout the day.

People do it when they’re driving. They get so lost in thought that they reach their destination without really knowing how they got there. It happens when we watch TV too. We get so engrossed in the programme that we don’t hear the conversations taking place around us. This is hypnosis.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Making the decision to look for help can be a huge step on its own. If that’s why you’re reading this can I just say, well done. You’re doing the right thing.

I know the thought of sharing your most personal thoughts with a stranger can feel daunting. Thinking about what it’ll be like meeting a therapist for the first time can make you feel a bit anxious too. This is all totally normal. Before we meet I want you to feel as informed as you possibly can to make the whole process easier and more relaxing for you. Here’s what you can expect from working with me:

 
 
 

LET’S START WITH A CONSULTATION SESSION

An initial consultation can take up to 60 minutes. This gives us a chance to properly chat about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. It’s a safe space for you to ask any questions you have and for me to get an understanding of how we can work together.

This will help us decide the best way to move forward and we can create a plan that you’re comfortable with. There is no obligation at this stage. If it’s helpful for you to go away and have a think before booking a session, that’s absolutely ok.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN OUR HYPNOTHERAPY SESSIONS?

I believe therapy is as individual as you are, so no one session will be the same. Once we have agreed the goals you want to achieve through therapy, we will create a plan to work towards with each session, using a range of different techniques to get you there.

Each session will last for 60 minutes, and we will go at your pace. Every now and then we’ll check in to make sure you’re getting the most out of your therapy and, should we need to change your treatment plan, that’s no problem at all. It’s important to me that you get the right support you need.
