What to expect from a Hypnotherapy session with me in Manchester
What is a therapy room like?
Each session starts the moment you walk into the therapy room. I will meet you in a relaxed and safe space. The room is bright and airy with two big cosy armchairs for us to sit in. There is a bed in the room, but don’t worry, that’s no for you. Some of the other brilliant therapists I share the room with use it for their work.
All our sessions are confidential and judgement-free where you feel seen, heard and understood. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable every time we meet.
What is a hypnotherapy session like?
Once we know the changes you’re looking to make, we’ll turn them into goals. We’ll then use a range of tools and methods to help you achieve them in the most powerful way for you (read more about this in my previous post How can Hypnosis help with my mental health). No one session will be the same. I work with the individual needs of every client.
Our sessions will always be collaborative, and we’ll work together throughout. Sometimes you may need me to give you space to explore freely. Sometimes we’ll work closely, problem-solving together to help you reach your goals.
We will use your inner strengths and resources to help you make lasting change. You’ll leave with the belief and knowledge that you’ve got this long after our sessions have finished.
But what if I can’t be hypnotised in the session?
Don’t worry, Hypnosis is simply a focused state of attention. It is a natural occurrence that everyone experiences many times throughout the day. People may experience different depths, but everyone can experience hypnosis. The only people who can’t be hypnotised are those who do not want to be hypnotised.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is different for everyone, but most people report it as being a pleasant, relaxing experience. Clients often tell me that they experience a great night’s sleep after the sessions.
A lot of people also worry that they won’t be in control during the sessions. You don’t need to worry; you’ll always be in control of what you say and do. Your safety and best interests are at the forefront of the work we do together. We can exit hypnosis at any point during your session.
